Real Estate: Bocas & David

David is the third largest of the Panama cities, lying on the David River. It is also the capital of the province of Chiriqui. It was established as a gold prospecting town in the 1730s and the population had grown to more than hundred thousand. David is the transit point for traveling to Bocas del Toro, Cerro Punta, and Boquete due to its situation on the Inter-American Highway. The main activities of the city are cattle raising, sugar refining, soap making, clothing, shoe, furniture, and ceramics. As such, David real estate is a sound investment opportunity both for local and foreign investors, with plenty of properties coming up for sale.

David property scene

David real estate is on the path of growth and prosperity. The gulf situated on the Pacific Ocean adjacent to the David City in the Chiriqui Lowlands is known as “The Lost Coast”. This area is renowned for dozens of small islands, boating, scuba diving, and fishing. The government is conducting a major reforestation project in this area. Hence, the entire area around David, particularly Boca Brava and Boca Chica are developing at a rapid pace. Properties and construction are witnessing a boom in the entire Chiriqui province, with many persons planning to establish businesses related to tourism. The constructions are expected to come up on the shores of the mainland of the Chiriqui province, as well as in the several islands surrounding David City. Businesses related to sports fishing are also being established.

David real estate is attractive for the following reasons.

  • Many private islands are offering real estate to investors at affordable prices
  • The unspoiled natural beauty of this area, with its thick tropical forests, wide range of wildlife, and beaches of white sand are likely to attract lot of tourism to this area
  • The small islands, marine life, terrific scenery, and protected harbors had given a big boost to boating, fishing, and yachting related business
  • Water sports like scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, etc. are also witnessing a nice growth in the islands
Thus, any investment in the properties in David city and surrounding areas is an ideal proposition. The prospects for a fair amount of appreciation of the investment are quite bright, yielding considerable profits within a short term period. Long term real estate prospects are even better in David and Bocas del Toro areas.

Bocas real estate

Bocas real estate has got a lot to offer discerning investors, with large seafront properties, hotels, restaurants, private island estates, and commercial lots available at affordable price as bright investment avenues. To cite an example, a 5 acre pristine land on the mainland in Cauchero with a water frontage of 117 meters is offered for $175,000. This land is about 45-minute boat ride from Bocas and possesses a protected cove and spectacular mountain views.

Similarly, 1.55 acres of titled beachfront property in Bluff Beach in the city of Bocas del Toro could be negotiated from an asking price of $532,780. Several lands, estates, and buildings are offered for sale in the surrounding islands also. With bright prospects for the future, Bocas real estate investment is a good proposition, either as a retirement plan or as a business development scheme.
