The festivities involve music, dancing, parades, bar-b-cues, and parties. There is also the famous festival of the Black Christ, which is held at Portobelo on October 21, every year. On this day a procession is taken out with the life size statue of black Christ. This festival is unique and attracts people from all over the country. Apart from the festivals there is also the delectable nightlife of the country. Clubs cater to all types of tastes, and you can find everything here starting from pop, to salsa, merengue, and reggae. The bustling social life can be a huge impetus to live in Panama.

Law and order, safety on the streets of Panama


Of late, living in Panama has come under speculation, due to the safety on the streets of Panama. You are as liable to come across a mugger here, as much as in Manhattan. People are advised to follow the standard safety precautions, which are a part of life in any part of the world. Drugs are a major threat to society here, and the law shows no leniency while dealing with the offenders. The political situation is pretty stable now and in no way affects those who live in Panama.

Panamanian Cuisine and food


The food eaten in Panama is no different from other Latin American countries. People here love, fish, seafood, corn, and shell fishes. Some delicacies found here is ceviche, which is raw fish in lemon juice and cilantro. Others are patacones which are fried plantain slices, corvine, a white colored fish found in the Pacific, off the coast of Panama. People here also love shrimps, tiger prawns and camarones.
